Tom Nolan Band is an R&B, jump blues ensemble and their fourth release is
TNB. There are sharp, high-energy covers like "Soul Man" and even a stirring
one of "People Get Ready" Nolan (who teaches at Crossroads School) is a
spirited vocalist and harp player. His secret weapon here is vocalist Jade who has
some mighty swell pipes. If you like Southside Johnny, this should be up your
back alley. "Funky Neighborhood" and "Spring Fever" demonstrate these folks
can skillfully write and perform new songs as well as perform old ones.
They're Venice-based, so give some Westside folks the support they've earned.
